How much is shipping?

Shipping via air mail is US $5 flat rate to anywhere in the world. This comes with delivery confirmation. Tracking is not available for this option. If your order exceeds US $75, I will ship to you for free. Fast shipping upgrade prices depend on your location and the value of your order, and can be calculated upon check-out.

When can I expect my package to arrive?

All ready-stock items are shipped via registered mail by Indonesia Post within 3 working days of your purchase, excluding Indonesian national and Balinese holidays. Shipping to the US, Australia and Europe normally takes 3 to 6 weeks, and to Canada it takes 5 to 8 weeks. Around the holidays the shipping times may be a little longer. Unless agreed otherwise, custom made jewelry is shipped in 6 to 8 weeks of your purchase. Shipping times are similar to ready-stock items.

Gardens of the Sun is not responsible for items damaged or lost in transit. If you'd like to be able to track your package, please select the Express Shipping Upgrade.

Do you offer fast shipping upgrades?

For faster shipping, please select the Express Shipping upgrade. Express shipping takes 5 working days to destinations worldwide. This excludes any time the package may spend at customs. The additional cost depends on the weight of the parcel. Please note that paying for expedited shipping does not mean that you will receive your goods the next day, as we are shipping halfway across the world! For all international orders, please note that the consumer is responsible for any tax and duty fees on orders required to go through customs. We're unable to pre-calculate this fee for you as the cost is determined by each country’s customs.

What if I'm in a rush?

Your satisfaction is really important to me. If you need your order by a specific date please select a premium shipping upgrade during check out and email us at and we will try our best to make it work.

I want to gift your jewelry. Can I ship directly to them?

Of course! I ship anywhere for $5, and all jewelry comes with complimentary gift wrapping.

Are your packages insured?

We don't currently offer insured shipping. If international shipping seems a bit daunting to you, I suggest you purchase an Express Shipping Upgrade during check-out so you can track your package.

Do you accept returns on ready stock items?

I want happy customers that love my jewelry! If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase for whatever reason, please email with your order number. We accept returns of ready stock items within 30 days of purchase date or within 7 days of receipt of product (whichever is longer). To be eligible for a return, your jewelry must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. This means, free from scratches, blemishes, sizing or alterations, and without signs of wear or tear. It must also be in the original packaging. You'll be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. Please include a note with your name and order number with the package when shipped back to us, and mark the content as sample with a total value of $49 or less. Gardens of the Sun does NOT refund shipping charges on return items.

What if I need something changed on my order?

We work hard to process your orders as quickly as possible, in order to get them to you sooner. For this reason, we can't make any changes to your order once it has been processed. If you need to make any changes or cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible at so we can see  how we can help you.

What is your return policy on custom orders?

Unfortunately, custom orders (including engraved pieces and special ring sizes) are non-refundable, but we do want you to be happy with your piece. If the item is damaged or we made a mistake, we'll work with you to fix it. As each piece is handmade to order, outside of repairs and issuing a claim for defect, we don't accept returns. However, if you need resizing, or need further work to perfection your custom order, I'd be happy to work with you. If your piece has been damaged or is defective please email us within 7 days of receiving your order.

Can I cancel my custom order?

There is a 24 hour time window for you to cancel your custom order. A bespoke piece is hand made especially for you, so once production starts it cannot be cancelled. For all custom made items there's a $100 non-refundable deposit. If you decide not to purchase your bespoke jewelry, you'll be charged your deposit only.

What if my ring does not fit?

If you find your ring does not fit, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for a different size. Not all rings can be resized due to the type of setting. In that case you may want to return the ring and exchange it for another one, or let me make your similar ring in your size. Questions? Contact me at

My jewelry broke :( Now what?

What a bummer! If your jewelry arrives in less than stellar condition due to mishandling during shipping or any mistakes in production, please file a repair request within 7 days of receipt. I will replace your jewelry at no cost as timely as I can. If it broke due to a fault on your side, I'm still happy to help. You can always send it back to me for repairs. You will be charged for any materials, labour and shipping incurred.

I lost my earring. Can you replace a single earring?

Probably I can. If I have the right diamond or gemstones in stock you may purchase a single. My pieces are made by hand and often with uncut gemstones and, as a result, each piece will vary slightly in size, shape and color. In some cases, I will ask you to send the mate to us (at your cost) so I can better match it for you. The cost for one earring is typically half of the cost for the pair.

How much is the sales tax?

Sales tax is included in the retail price.

What payment methods do you accept?

I currently accept payments via Credit Card and Paypal. Bank transfers to the Netherlands and Indonesia may be possible, please contact me if you need this.

Do you ever run discounts?

Occasionally I do. Like Gardens of the Sun on Facebook, and follow me on Instagram and TwitterOr you can sign up for the Insider List on the homepage. I often run specials and will announce online discount codes on my social media and in the newsletter. I also offer free standard shipping worldwide on orders over $49, no coupon code necessary.

Can you send my purchase directly to a gift recipient?

Absolutely! Enter your address in the billing section and the gift recipient's address in the shipping section. If you'd like to include a message with your gift, please do so at checkout. Feel free to send me an email to personally ensure this message comes through. In order to save paper, receipts are never included with your package. All jewelry comes gift wrapped in my signature jewelry boxes.

I want to gift your jewelry, but don't know the recipients ring size. What do I do?

If you are buying a ring as a gift, you can find some tips here. Choosing the correct ring size is the responsibility of the customer, as people differ in the way in which they prefer their rings to fit. Some wear them loosely, while others like to wear them more tight. I recommend contacting me beforehand for information about ring resizing and exchange possibilities. Another option is to purchase an open horseshoe type ring (you will find them under statement rings), these can usually be worn up to one or two sizes up or down.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes, all jewelry comes with complimentary gift wrapping in my signature jewelry boxes. I find that jewelry boxes just protect the jewelry better when it travels half way across the world, plus unpacking your jewelry is an experience I want you to enjoy. To save on packaging material I will combine gift wrapping for items purchased together. Should you need separate gift wrapping, please let me know in a note when placing your order.

Who runs Gardens of the Sun?

Gardens of the Sun is owned and run by Meri Geraldine. Born and raised in the Netherlands, and living in Indonesia for over eight years. I'm married to a very handsome man, and together we have a four year old daughter. She's amazing, but being her mom I'm probably a little biased. In my spare time I enjoy creating whatever comes to mind, and taking my Stand Up Paddle board - with gemstone artwork on it of course - out for a surf. I also enjoy yoga. Currently my favorite pose is the baby grasshopper and superman (aerial yoga). I loving riding oldtimers bikes, especially Vespa’s on sunny days. I also love to cook and to eat. Mango is my favourite fruit.

Where does the name of the shop come from?

The name of the shop, Gardens of the Sun, comes from an old journal about Borneo island written by an explorer from the 19th century. He describes the exotic jungles of the tropical islands of Borneo and Sulawesi. His description of the home of the Dayaks, rare birds and curious animals opened up a whole new world, inspiring many others.

Where is the location of the shop and studio?

The design studio is located in Bali, Indonesia (yes, that's as amazing as it sounds). The actual magic happens in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. You can find more details about stockists here.

Where is your jewelry made?

My jewelry is handmade in Indonesia.

Is all your jewelry really handmade?

Sure is! All jewelry is created by an experienced silversmith or master goldsmith. Even the packaging is handmade. The personal touch is one of the best things about Gardens of the Sun.

I don’t know my ring size. What do I do?

You've come to the right place! You will receive a FREE printable ringsizer when you sign up for the mailing list at the bottom right of this page. Follow the directions and order the closest fit. However, if you have the opportunity I highly suggest getting sized by a professional jeweller.
